When I bestride
him, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when
he touches it; the basest horn
of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes.
~William Shakespeare, Henry V

Centaur,
an Online Literary Journal, was created out of the desire to
offer a creative
outlet for the exploration of the powerful, historical,
sometimes life-changing connection that exists
between humans and horses. All horse people know that there is
something very insightful and
intelligent going on behind the eyes of a horse, and the bond
that is created between humans
and their equine companions is something unique and surprisingly
strong. Art and the horse is a
wonderful and inevitable partnership, and Centaur seeks to fully
appreciate that connection.
This is a space for the artistic appreciation of the horse,
no matter what form that expression chooses to take.
